Package 3: Advanced Training in FEES To Become Ready To Be Privileged by an Employer
Location: Online + In Person at the FEESTraining.Com Center, Sarasota, Fl
ASHA CEU Available: 3.3
Prerequisites: This training assumes a basic understanding of FEES. The participant may have attended a CEU course or Online course on FEES and understands the practical application of this technique for diagnostic swallowing instrumentation.
What Makes This Course Different?: Over the past 30 years I have been asked to train SLPs in preparation for a job at a hospital or other setting to perform FEES. There does not seem to be a place for an SLP to get all of the training they need in order to be clinically privileged by their work setting. This 3 day course attempts to prepare one for such a situation.

• Intro To Dysphagia Management from a FEES Perspective: 2 Hours ONLINE
• The Five Systems of Dysphagia – An In-depth Look: 4 Hours ONLINE
• FEES VS MBS – Choosing an Instrumentation: 1 Hours ONLINE
• Normal Vs Abnormal Anatomy from an Endoscopic Perspective: 3 Hours ONLINE
• How to Perform a FEES – An Introduction to the Equipment: 2 Hours
• PDPM, Medical Necessity, Documenting Diagnosis and Determining Instrumentation Appropriateness: An In-depth Look: 3 Hours ONLINE
• Documentation Basics for A Dysphagia Instrumentation: 2 Hours ONLINE
• Scoping for FEES Part 1: Scoping Training Tools and 5 Live Scopings: 8 Hours SARASOTA
• Scoping for FEES Part 2: Positioning, Disinfection, and 15 Live Scopings: 8 Hours SARASOTA
• Performing a FEES with all Clinical Aspects: Minimum of 5 Evaluations: 6 Hours SARASOTA

This 3 day course provides the SLP with not only the clinical expertise to be clinically privileged elsewhere, but also the 5-7 day field training under our direct supervision so that one can ethically put themselves out there as meeting all best practices for performing FEES according to the standards as set forth by ASHA.
